INTERREG SUDOE - ClimACT

Portugal, Spain, France and Gibraltar

ClimACT is a European Union funded project that aims to support the transition to a low carbon economy in schools. The project will be implemented in 35 pilot schools in Portugal, Spain, France and Gibraltar, based on four lines of action: (i) development of decision support tools that will enable schools to increase their energy efficiency through the intelligent management of resources, change and behavior change; (ii) development of business models and new energy management strategies for schools; (iii) development of educational tools for low carbon awareness; and (iv) creation of a thematic network in the SUDOE region to sensitize and empower schools in the transition to a low carbon economy.

The objective of the Interreg SUDOE program is to promote transnational cooperation to solve common problems in the South-West European Regions. The ClimACT project is funded by the Interreg Sudoe Programme through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The project seeks to build upon ongoing school activities, by converting existing practice into shared school experiences. It also involves pilot testing and trialing alternative teaching and learning resources and approaches. The activities aim to raise environmental awareness and educate pupils and adults in sustainable practice.
