Thematic Activities for Schools
The four thematic activities are an adaption of the Eco-Schools Seven Steps to accommodate the situation different countries’ school systems are facing. They can be done from school or at home and are a simplified shorter version of the Seven Steps. They each deal with different issues that are directly or indirectly related to the pandemic.
WaSH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) deals with ways of preventing the spread of COVID-19, while Connecting with Nature! has to do with the increasing need to spend time in nature after a long lock down. Waste Management and Litter addresses the problems around the increasing amount of single-use products for protecting ourselves against COVID-19 and Health and Nutrition revolves around the problems that some communities are facing regarding fulfilling nutritional needs of children when they are not in school and also focuses on creating awareness of our eating habits and their impact on the environment.
